Description:
The spectacular Conrad Mansion lies in the heart of Kalispell. It is an outstanding example of period architecture by Spokane architect Kirtland Cutter. Built in 1895 for C.E. Conrad, Montana pioneer and founder of Kalispell, the Mansion remains unchanged to this day. Alice Conrad Campbell, the youngest of the Conrad children, donated the Mansion to the city of Kalispell in 1975 to be maintained as an historic site. The landscaped gardens, the exterior, and the interior three floors have been restored to their original beauty. The Mansion’s kitchen features a custom-made range, Southern biscuit machine, and servant’s callboard. The dining room contains the original Chippendale table; and the bedrooms appear as they did when slept in by famous guests. The magnificent Great Hall, contain a wonderful stone fireplace and fantastic oak woodwork, annually held a two-story Christmas tree. Tours are available from 10 am – 6 pm, 15 May to 15 October and the facilities are available for group events.
