Description: Located near Big Timber, MT, and 120 miles from both Bozeman and Billings airports, Sweet Grass Ranch offers cabins nestled along the Sweet Grass River. Housing range from small rustic log cabins without bath, rooms in the main ranch house, or large, framed family cabins with private baths. The Ranch offers a three-week rotating menu to provide you with a variety of ranch cooking experiences. All three meals are served family style. The cook can accommodate special medical dietary requirements. The Ranch is a perfect experience for those who want to live an authentic ranch life, riding good horses in lovely country, chowing down on great family-style meals, luxuriating in clear air and clean water, and enjoying the secluded atmosphere of ranch life. There are dinner rides, swimming in the creek, hiking and wonderful photographic opportunities. Evenings are filled with conversation, sing-alongs, and campfires, star-gazing. You might even be treated to an awesome display of Northern Lights or the lightning and crashing of a summer thunder storm. Horseback riding is the main activity; short and all-day rides; bareback if you wish. You can care for your own horse during your stay and help wrangle before breakfast. Relax along the Sweet Grass River to enjoy some dry fly fishing for Brown trout or ride up to the mountain lakes for frisky rainbow trout. Kids can fish in the stocked beaver pond near the ranch.
